Ready Player 2: 2013 Awards

Published on January 9th, 2014

So to round up the year that was 2013, we asked you, our humble yet excellent legion of fans to vote in our most prestigious awards.
We counted, collated and generally munched through the votes. (Some of you voted more than once. You naughty munchkins you!)
There were ten categories, all with nail-biting and sometimes surprising results.
So without further adieu, here are the winners of Ready Player 2’s 2013 awards.

System of the Year

The winning vote went to the PC. I’m so glad that we have the master race as our majority group of viewers.

Biggest Disappointment of the Year

Batman Arkham Origins seems to have ruffled a few feathers, perhaps a trip to the Hall of Shame is in order?

Indie Game of the Year

The Stanley Parable definitely left it’s mark, with sarcasm, wit and a wholly phenomenal narration.

Multi-Platform Game of the Year

You raised the black flag for Assassins Creed 4, showing that pirates truly arrrr! Great.

Soundtrack of the Year

GTA V lauded with attentions from having a truly stellar radio channel soundtrack.

Playable Character of the Year

With Trevor (GTA V) winning, it quickly became clear that a trend was emerging.

Studio of the Year

Rockstar, unsurprisingly, grabbed 2013’s studio of the year.

Most Anticipated Game of 2014

Fallout 4 might never come out, but the mere possibility of it emerging got everyone in a tizzy.

Game of the Year

GTA V, beating even the heavyweight champion Pokemon, deserves credit where it’s due. Defeating the Nintendo giant is not easily done.

Listener of the Year

Chris Coleman

Now, we’re sure some sort of manic pixie mayhem has gone on here, as Chris Coleman takes pole position as Ready Player 2’s listener of the year. @ThePhenomenalC, you better raise a glass, because this might be podcast love.

Big thanks to everyone that voted, and to everyone who listened to us this past year. 2014 looks like it’s going to be bigger and brighter, so here’s to a very shiny new year.
Lots of non-sexual love, from the Ready Player Crew.
